Company Overview

The Georgia Gwizzlies are a professional basketball team based in metro Atlanta, Georgia. They are part of the Gulf Coast Division Gulf Coast Division in the American Basketball Association (ABA). The original ABA league began the legendary NBA careers of Moses Malone, Larry Brown, Julius “Dr. J” Erving and other greats.

The Gwizzlies have consistently performed in the famed California Summer Pro League in Long Beach, California to playing games in a variety of spring, summer and fall professional leagues.

Gwizzlies’ players have been invited by overseas leagues to tour France and Spain. They have also attended scrimmage workouts with NBA teams.

The franchise was originally founded in 2004 as the Gwinnett Gwizzlies by current Head Coach and General Manager Embry Malone and played in the American Basketball League. The team’'s home was the Gwinnett Center Arena which accounts for the “"w"” in the team'’s nickname.
